Proceeding contribution from Lord Avebury (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 17 January 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Immigration Asylum and Nationality Bill 2005-06.

Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Bill

Before the Minister leaves the question of data protection, will she answer my question about Interpol? I am not saying that Interpol should not have information under this clause; I was asking for information on whether it would be treated as falling within the definition of a foreign law enforcement agency. In fact, we share some police information with Interpol, and I believe that it conforms to the data protection principles and that we have satisfied ourselves on that score.
