Proceeding contribution from Baroness Amos (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 21 February 2007. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Iraq and the Middle East.
Iraq and the Middle East
My Lords, I think that we all recognise that having our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq is a situation that would be difficult to sustain over the long term. That said, we all commend what our troops have been doing in theatre in Afghanistan and Iraq, and we will continue to look at the force levels in both those countries because this is about the conditions on the ground and the support that we need to give our troops to ensure that they are able to function effectively.
