Finance Bill

Over the past hour or so, my right hon. Friend has made the Government the offer that his Committee look again at the 2008 Budget. I hope that those on the Front Bench will intervene to indicate that they accept that offer. May I impress upon my right hon. Friend the need to undertake that inquiry with some urgency, in order that the Government might have a vehicle through which to alleviate the situation in which many lower-paid taxpayers find themselves?
