Proceeding contribution from Lord Eatwell (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 13 January 2009. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Banking Bill.

Banking Bill

Clause 2: Interpretation: "bank" Debate on whether Clause 2 should stand part of the Bill I am rather puzzled that in subsections (6) and (7) there is forward reference to conditions on building societies and credit unions, but there is no forward reference to the conditions which my noble friend plans to introduce with respect to bank holding companies and investment banks. Why are they not there?
