Transport Infrastructure

I am grateful to my hon. Friend for his observations, and for the representations that he has made on these issues. It is clearly important that, in presenting arguments for expansion as I have done today, we recognise the significant climate change implications for not just aviation but all transport. That is why I have set out a clear path forward that will allow the Climate Change Committee to present its proposals for how the Government should meet their 2050 obligations. There will be a detailed programme of work, involving the committee, to ensure that the Government are on track to meet not just their general target, but specific aviation and transport targets.
