Proceeding contribution from Lord Hunt of Wirral (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 20 April 2009. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Postal Services Bill [HL].
Postal Services Bill [HL]
That was a helpful response by the Minister. We both recognise that the purpose of these amendments is merely to reflect on the fact that Ofcom certainly has the power to go beyond previous regulatory limits in its market assessment. I was concerned about possible gold-plating and the uncertainty that might be introduced into the marketplace. Although the Minister’s response goes some way towards alleviating those concerns, I should like to reflect on them. In the mean time, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 84A withdrawn.
