Proceeding contribution from Lord Skelmersdale (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 18 June 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Welfare Reform Bill.

Welfare Reform Bill

I apologise for detaining the Committee even for these five minutes, but I thought I should draw this particularly germane fact to the attention of the Minister rather more forcefully than just sending a copy of a letter, which I do moderately regularly on all sorts of subjects, as the Minister will acknowledge. I anticipated that I would get absolutely nowhere today for the very reason that the Minister has fairly given. But, as I say, I make no apology. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 57 withdrawn.
