Proceeding contribution from Earl Attlee (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 28 June 2011. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Localism Bill.
Localism Bill
My Lords, I believe that that is the intention of my noble friend’s amendment; the meter would run only from when the directive was designated. The process must be fair, reasonable and proportionate. I therefore warmly welcome the draft policy statement from the Greater London Authority, mentioned by my noble friend Lord Jenkin, arising from discussions with the Government. A copy has been placed in the Library and I would welcome any comments on it. I was also very interested to see the amendments of my noble friend Lady Gardner of Parkes.
