Proceeding contribution from Lord Darling of Roulanish (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 19 July 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill on Crossrail Bill.
Crossrail Bill
I shall come to that later. I know that concerns have been raised by Members representing constituencies to the west of Paddington about access into Paddington station. I will go into that in further detail, but there is no reason why trains coming into Paddington from south Wales and the west country will not continue to be able to do so, as they do now, as they use the fast lines into Paddington, whereas Crossrail will be using the slow ones. I shall explain in greater detail why there will not be the impact that people fear.
