Proceeding contribution from Stewart Hosie (Scottish National Party) in the House of Commons on Monday, 24 April 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Finance (No 2) Bill.

Finance (No. 2) Bill

I hear what the Paymaster General says. I am certain that she is saying it with a straight face, and believes what she is saying. However, as I said earlier, she told me that"““the Chancellor committed to no further increases in North sea taxation for the lifetime of this parliament.””—[Official Report, 30 March 2006; Vol. 444, c. 1112W.]" I am sorry, but I believe that changes in the blended oil regime for North sea oil made a week before I received that answer represent a change in the oil taxation regime.
