Civil Aviation Bill
My Lords, one accepts that there is a large runway at Stansted, and that 25 million passengers a year go through it. It would be possible to have 40 million passengers a year on that runway. Therefore, the policy that I, my party and a lot of other people support is that there could be maximum use of that runway. I repeat what my noble friend Lady Hanham said—we have to consider the long-term and continuing expansion of air travel. However, the next Conservative government, led by David Cameron, will have to address that point.
