Proceeding contribution from Jamie Reed (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 30 June 2008. It occurred during Opposition day on Energy Security.
Energy Security
I regret that the hon. Gentleman has sought to misrepresent my views, but I admire the fact that he is facing both ways at once on the issue of renewables. The issue is not about class, but affordability. Class has nothing to do with it. I am simply pointing out that in some of the poorer parts of the country, microgeneration is simply not doable or achievable, and the idea that it should be a principal element of policy is, frankly, for the birds.
