Proceeding contribution from Tobias Ellwood (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 7 December 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill on Energy Bill.
Energy Bill
The right hon. Gentleman gave his maiden speech just after I gave mine; I congratulate him on his epic rise to fame on the Front Benches. Taking up the issue of fossil fuels, we now know that nuclear capacity is running out and that we are running out of oil and gas. What have this Government done for the past 10 years? It is as though the Secretary of State is the boy scout who has turned up late for camp and finally realised that he is responsible for lighting the fire, so everybody will get very cold and angry. Have we not just had a wasted decade?
