Proceeding contribution from Lord Berkeley (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 8 December 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Civil Aviation Bill.
Civil Aviation Bill
Perhaps I may raise another issue. My noble friend will be aware that the Government are trying to engineer, if that is the right word, the amalgamation of several police forces. I am sure that some of those forces do not like what is happening to them. If the Government can do something by amalgamation, surely—if they had the will—they could extend the role of the BTP to airports.
