Proceeding contribution from Baroness Hanham (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 8 December 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Civil Aviation Bill.
Civil Aviation Bill
To resolve some of these problems, the local community needs only to know that there is an agreement. That would provide the element of security it needs. Would it not be more sensible to say that once the agreement has been achieved, the local community should be notified of it? The community need not know what the agreement comprises, only that there is in place a bona fide, sensible arrangement under which everyone knows what they are doing. I doubt whether local communities care tuppence for how the agreement is arrived at so long as it is in place.
