I thank the noble Lord for his reply, which was much as we expected. I agree that compensation for airports alone should not be addressed. I think we have a problem. I will try and find some international examples so that I can catch the Minister out on another occasion. The cost of a project goes up a lot because we cannot acquire properties because of the compensation system in this country. There is an issue here that warrants consideration. The noble Lord made a political point about the next government. Given the events of this week, I think I know what the next government will be and I shall encourage them to do something about this, as we have encouraged other governments in the past.
