Proceeding contribution from Lord Davies of Oldham (Labour) in the House of Lords on Monday, 5 December 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Civil Aviation Bill.
Civil Aviation Bill
They apply to all licensed airports. I emphasised designated airports because the amendments tabled by the noble Lord, Lord Hanningfield, reflect on the Secretary of State’s position. I was seeking to cover that point. I apologise to the noble Lord. He has waited patiently while I have produced rather a lengthy reply. I give the noble Lord, Lord Hanningfield, full credit: with his first volley of amendments, ably assisted by one or two of my noble friends, he has identified some of the crucial issues in the Bill. It is not surprising that I have been somewhat protracted in my reply but I intend to be briefer.
