Civil Aviation Bill

I was going to ask whether it was in order to be given a further response; however, I gather that nothing is in order or out of order in the House of Lords. Something very important is being missed. This is about operations in the airport itself, not outside it. I agree with everything that my noble friend said about that, and no doubt he has been strongly advised not to include in the Bill things that can be overtaken by technology. There is a concern about global warming and other things related to the growth in air transport therefore the expectation is that people who operate aircraft—airports—should bear down on emissions in the airport itself. They can do so and we ought to encourage them. If it is any comfort to my noble friend the Minister, I simply say to him that that message needs to go out loud and clear because many airports, but not all, are prepared to adopt it.
