Proceeding contribution from Lord Hanningfield (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 5 December 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Civil Aviation Bill.

Civil Aviation Bill

That is why I asked for the amendments to be decoupled. I have a long briefing which I received only at lunchtime today. I do not want to talk for 20 minutes. Noble Lords who can entertain us might like to do that but I like to keep my contributions fairly short. I wanted to go through the briefing and speak to it succinctly on Thursday. That is why I was told earlier today that we were likely to finish at Amendment No. 25. I was not too worried about. As the noble Lord, Lord Clinton-Davis, has said, we have gone faster than we thought we would. I was not worried about it earlier.
